The XX1 Eagle AXS combines the proven, dedicated 1x backbone of Eagle with a connected wireless electronic derailleur and controller (shifter). With completely new inputs at the bar that initiate a shift with a touch. It is an all-new derailleur that is specifically designed and optimized to be motor-driven instead of cable-actuated, to truly leverage what this allows. AXS powered components enable customization and scale to an individual rider’s liking via the AXS app (for Google Android and Apple iOS platform available).

The pure shifting performance of Eagle AXS is the real difference maker. Shift under load, over the roughest terrain, uphill, or without changing your grip on the bar. Eagle AXS changes your level of control on the bike when you’re under pressure and pushing hard into the red. But more than that, it changes your relationship with the bike.

XC spec and ready for the trail. XX1 Eagle AXS utilizes the proven backbone of SRAM 1x. With the lightest weight materials and a 520-percent gear range. More secure and longer wearing X-Sync 2 chainring. The pinnacle of performance, paired with the connected components of Eagle AXS. Ready for the new gen of super bikes.

Each SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS Groupset includes the following components:

  • SRAM Eagle AXS 12-speed Controller (includes one CR2032 battery and a SRAM discrete clamp).

  • SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS 12-speed Rear Derailleur (includes a rear derailleur chain-gap adjustment gauge tool).

  • SRAM XX1 Eagle Chain 12-speed - Rainbow Colour (includes a 12spd Quick Link).

what are we looking at.

At a glance, Eagle AXS brings the real benefits of wireless electronic shifting to the mountain bike. On a deeper level, it offers discerning riders unprecedented personalization and control of the drivetrain. On the bike and off. Deepening the relationship between machine and rider. This addition to the Eagle ecosystem enhances capability. Removes complexity. And provides riders an experience like never before imagined.

SRAMS all new XX1 Eagle AXS Groupset is about as close to the TRON bike as MTB's have ever been. But let's be honest here, what's all the fuss about?

  • 12-gears? Come on we've already got that.

  • A battery? I'm pretty sure lots of bikes have batteries these days.

  • A severe lack of cables or wires? Well ok, that's pretty rad.

  • Push of a button gear changes via an encrypted wireless network? Ok, that's pretty awesome too.

  • The ability to shift under load, uphill, over the roughest terrain, at the same time, all without even having to change your grip on the bar?  Wait, WHAT!?

  • How about a derailleur that's smart enough to protect itself if you bang it off some rocks? Well... how does it even...?

  • That's not all - how about the ability to program what the three buttons on the controller do? What that one to upshift, this one to downshift, or better yet that one to control your dropper?? Yeah, ok... I'm in!

So I think we can all agree, this is a space age amount of technology, but the coolest thing of all is just how smooth the chain moves from cog to cog, all to the sweet, soft, sound of 'vvvoot - vvvoot - vvvoot'

Who's this item for:

specs.

SRAM XX1 Eagle AXS Rear Derailleur Specifications:

Shifts instantaneously from a single touch, even while under World Cup-winning chain loads. Featuring a shorter cage for 10mm more ground clearance and more chain wrap on the cassette so it sits slightly further forward, and further inboard than the mechanical 12spd Eagle.  Tested to IP69K water and dust proofing standard so whatever your day brings, you’re ready.

  • number of gears:  12

  • weight:  Currently unknown but the whole XX1 Eagle AXS Groupset weighs 1,451-grams without a bottom bracket.

  • materials:  Carbon, composite,  aluminium, and titanium.

  • chain and cassette compatibility: Any SRAM Eagle 12-speed chain. This derailleur has been designed to work with SRAM X-DOME Eagle cassettes only.

  • max cassette range:  10-50T.

  • clutch style:  Type 3 X-HORIZON + AXS Overload Clutch - The AXS Overload Clutch will move the derailleur back into the selected gear if you bash it against a rock (or the like) or bump it.  Yup, built in protection for your derailleur.

  • cage length:  Long.

  • jockey wheel tooth count:  Top - 12T Bottom - 14T

  • other notable features: Completely water and dust proof to IP69K.  Once again, BUILT IN PROTECTION.

SRAM Eagle AXS 12-speed Controller Specifications:

Having the ability to fine tune the placement of your shift levers is one thing, but imagine being able to change what the levers do all together.  That's exactly what you can do with the SRAM Eagle AXS Controller- totally customisable touchpoints. With three touchpoints to choose from (two behind the shifter body and one in front) they are all programmable through the AXS App.  Oh, I almost forgot.  Say goodbye to cables, housing and wires.  How tidy does that sound?

  • number of gears:  12.

  • weight:  Currently unknown but the whole XX1 Eagle AXS Groupset weighs 1,451-grams without a bottom bracket.

  • materials:  Alloy, composite, and magic.

  • mount style:  Includes a SRAM Match Maker X discrete clamp.

  • other notable features:  Completely water and dust proof to IP69K standard.  AXS enabled componentry software makes it possible to both program and personalise new SRAM AXS and RockShox AXS components.  This can be done via the AXS downloadable APP.  Secret Sprint Paddle- the front touchpoint comes factory set to shift to a harder gear.  The thought process here is that you can simply 'bump' it with your knuckle to grab a gear if you feel to.  Expect up to two years of battery life out of the single CR2032 battery in the EAGLE AXS Controller.

SRAM Eagle XX1 Chain Specifications:

The SRAM Eagle chain links have been constructed with a smooth radius, no sharp edges or chamfers.  This attention to detail results in a significant reduction in friction, wear and noise.  Pair this with flatter plates and more consistent chain riveting and you get a chain that runs for longer, quieter and is stronger.

  • number of gears:  12.

  • weight:  261-grams.

  • materials / construction:  Outer plate = Nickel + PVD, Inner plate = Chrome plated + PVD.

  • other component compatibility:  SRAM Eagle 12-speed cassette and chainrings.

  • chain pins:  Chrome hardened hollow pins for reduced weight.

  • other notable features:  Includes a SRAM Eagle 12-speed Quick Link.

SRAM XG-1299 Eagle Cassette Specifications:

This is the Nico Vouilloz of cassettes.  Untouchable.  In his hayday, if Nico was racing, everyone else was racing for second.  This cassette casts a similar shadow. It buried the front derailleur (in most of the world), then offered more gear range than 2x.  Designed to be used with the reliable XD Driver body this 12-speed cassette offers a huge 500% gear range. The X-Dome design has proven to be strong, and new shifting characteristics improve both inboard and outboard shifting, as well as chain retention.  That is a big shadow.

  • number of gears:  12.

  • weight:  362-grams.

  • materials / construction:  10-42T Chromoly Steel, 50T Aluminium.

  • cog-tooth span:  10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36, 42, 50T.

  • freehub mounting style:  XD Driver.

  • other component compatibility:  SRAM Eagle 12-speed chains or derailleurs.

  • other notable features: Rainbow Colour!!! (We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of OZ!)

SRAM XX1 EAGLE DUB SL Crankset Specifications:

How do you take one of the industries lightest and strongest carbon cranksets and make it better?  I have no idea but that is exactly what SRAM did with their new XX1 Eagle DUB SL Crankset.  This 'CARBON TUNED' crankset is the lightest, stiffest and strongest crankset SRAM have made to date. It also utilises their DUB BB standard to make it compatible with any DUB bottom bracket.

  • crank arm lengths available: 170, 175mm

  • weight:  Currently unknown but the whole XX1 Eagle AXS Groupset weighs 1,451-grams without a bottom bracket.

  • materials / construction:  Crank arm material is carbon.

  • chainring mounting style:  SRAM direct mount.

  • spindle size / style:  28.99mm / SRAM DUB.

  • chainline:  Dictated by the chainring

  • crank boot compatibility:  Yup, SRAM crank boots are included with the crankset.

  • other component compatibility: Any 11-speed and SRAM Eagle 12-speed chains, and any SRAM style direct mount chainrings.

  • other notable features:  Includes a 34T SRAM X-Sync 2 chainring.

SRAM X-Sync 2 34T Chainring Specifications:

What happens when you have a room of drivetrain engineers study thousands of used, battered and bruised SRAM X-Sync chainrings?  This- the X-Sync 2 Chainring.  With a longer, positive-rake tooth shape it's been designed to work perfectly with the new Eagle chain to increase overall pedaling efficiency and chain retention.  All this while decreasing friction, wear and noise.

  • number of teeth:  34T.

  • mounting style:  SRAM direct mount.

  • chain retention technology: SRAM X-Sync 2, curved teeth grip the chain while also decreasing noise.

  • other component compatibility: Any 11-speed and SRAM Eagle 12-speed chains, and any SRAM style direct mount chainrings.

  • weight:  34T SRAM direct mount, 49-grams.

  • other notable features:  Can be used with a Quarq SRAM XX1 Eagle Power Meter.

SRAM AXS Battery / SRAM AXS Charging Base Specifications:

The SRAM battery is the power source for both AXS and eTap components. The same battery is interchangeable between both the front and rear eTap AXS derailleurs, the Eagle AXS rear derailleur, and the RockShox Reverb AXS seatpost.  One battery to rule them all.

  • charging style:  The SRAM AXS batteries recharge on the SRAM AXS Charging Base.  The charging base is designed to sit on a counter/desk top/workbench and plugs into your power source via the USB cable attached to it.  The charger does not include the transformer (wall plug) or adapters for other countries.  There are lights that indicate charging progress.

  • charging time:  The SRAM AXS battery charges in a lightning fast 60 minutes or less.

  • battery operational time: SRAM says to expect 20-hours or more.  But it's relative to how much you use your derailleur/dropper.  For some of us that's a weeks work of riding.  For others that's more than a month.

  • battery weight: 24-grams.
